When Mike’s not out on his mountain bike, he’s can often be found working on bikes under the watchful eye of his lab, Lola. He’s always loved the outdoors, and over the years, he’s discovered a passion for teaching. From hiking trips through Nepal to teaching scuba diving in Thailand, he enjoys sharing his knowledge with others, introducing them to new activities and helping them gain new skills and confidence along the way. He is a longtime Truckee-Tahoe resident and has been coaching mountain bike skills clinics in the area for multiple years. Mike enjoys talking about bike maintenance and setup and sharing his local trail knowledge with riders. As an avid advocate for the growing trail system in Tahoe, he is always willing to lend a hand during local trail maintenance days. When the snow falls, and it’s time to hang up his bike for the winter, Mike can still be found out on the trails teaching snowboarding to kids and adults.

Kim has always loved spending time in the outdoors.  Over the years she has developed a passion for teaching and inspiring others to spend more time outdoors learning new things. After dedicating 7 years of her life to competing in triathlon and Ironman, Kim picked up mountain biking "just for fun," to help her recover from knee surgery. Along the way, she fell in love with the rush of going downhill over steep and rocky terrain. She is the founder of Tahoe Mountain Bike Girls, a community-based organization bringing women together to learn a new sport and stay active. When she’s not working as an adventure travel guide, she spends her time teaching the fundamentals of mountain biking to clients while helping them build their confidence on the trails. She understands that pushing yourself out of your comfort zone can be scary, but it can also be incredibly empowering and fun!

“It’s so satisfying to help someone overcome a fear or help them do something they never thought possible!”
